Ms. Atieno Otieno is a multi-media and communications specialist with over 15 years’ experience working with local and international media companies. She currently serves as the County Director of Communications in the County Government of Kisumu.

Ms. Atieno was named one of 100 French-African Young Leaders of 2021 by a French-African Foundation programme. She has led production crews to produce high quality multimedia content for dissemination by local and international media companies notably Citizen TV, Dutch TV VPRO, ARD German TV and content for organizations such Plan International, UNCC; Learn and the FAO. She’s a DW-Akademie Media Viability Consultant – a programme that aims to strengthen small and medium media houses to be able to exist and flourish independently despite a myriad of challenges facing the industry.

Her productions have received accolades at renowned festivals notably the International Emmy Awards (NYC), the Prix Jeunnesse Festival (Germany) and the Movies that Matter Festival (Netherlands).
